In an exciting semifinal match, the Latvian team Samoilovs/Smedins have beaten the Dutch team Brouwer/Meeuwsen. In a full Dutch stadium, Samoilovs and Smedins won after three sets.

Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen made it to the finals of the European Championship Beach Volleyball. It was a pretty easy win for the Dutch team against the Latvian team Samoilovs/Smedins. 

In the first set, Brouwer/Meeuwsen took a big advantage at the start. They kept this advantage the complete set. The well known powerplay-volleyball of Brouwer and Meeuwsen, impressed Samoilovs and Smedins. A few services in a row at the end of the set, the Latvian hope for set win was gone. The Dutch team won the set: 21-13. 

The Latvian team played stronger the second set. They took an advantage against the Dutch team, which was loudly supported by the crowd in the Hague. Samoilovs and Smedins thought they won the set at 20-19, but the referee saw an error from Samoilovs. He touched the ball on the other side of the net. But some later, Samoilovs and Smedins still won the set with 22-20.

The crowd yelled loudly for the Dutch team, but the Latvian team took a big advantage. They won the third set with 15-10 and will play their semi-final tomorrow at 16.00 in the Hague.
