The second semi-final was a battle between Hermannová/Slukova and Keizer/Meppelink. An enthusiastic crowd in the Hague supported the Dutch team loudly. An exciting match over three sets was won by the Dutch team: 2-1 (20-22, 21-17, 15-12).

The first set was an exciting one. It seemed like Sanne Keizer didn’t feel her ankle injury too much during the match. There were long rally’s. The Dutch team used the enthusiasm of the Dutch crowd to play their best game. However, the Czech team kept a small advance during this set. Hermannová and Slukova won this match with 22-20.

The second set was an exciting one as well. Sanne Keizer scored many points by playing the balls on the lines. With her good service, she put a lot of pressure on the Czech team. Meppelink also scored her points with her block. Keizer and Meppelink won this set with 21-17. Like the first semi-final, also for this match a third set was needed to get a winner. Hermannová and Slukova had a kick start. They put a lot of pressure on the Dutch team. At a score of 10-6 with Czech Republic in the lead, Keizer and Meppelink came back. With an ace, Keizer finished the match in style: 15-12.

The final will be played tonight at 19:45 between Betschart/Hüberli and Keizer/Meppelink. “Last week we played against the Swiss”, so told us Meppelink. “Then we won quite easily, but we now are not pursuing too much with that. At first recover.”
