One of the favorites of the ladies teams for the title will not come into action during thee DELA European Champions league Volleyball. The Swiss top team Joana Heidrich and Anouk Vergé-Dépré will not play together. Heidrich got injured at the Gstaad Major and will not come into action anymore during the rest of the season as she is suffering a hernia. The Swiss couple was ranked third for the European Champions league. Heidrich will be replaced by the younger sister of Anouk Vergé-Dépré, Zoé, twenty years old. They will play in the same poule C as Laura Bloem and Jolien Sinnema.
Heidrich and Vergé-Dépré were already rather strong during this season on the World Tour and it was logical that they were ranked third for the DELA European Champions league Beach Volleyball. During the Gstaad Major Heidrich got injured in a lost match against the Dutch couple Joy Stubbe and Marleen van Iersel. It appears that she is suffering from a hernia and will not come into action anymore during the rest of the season. Sour news for the ambitions team.
Anouk Vergé-Dépré will play anyway on the DELA European Champions league Beach Volleyball. In The Hague she will come into action together with her younger sister Zoé Vergé-Dépré. An unique chance for Zoé aging twenty, one of the greatest beach volleyball talents of the World. Zoé: “We have never played together before, but sometimes trained together. I think it very exciting to play so suddenly in this Champions league, really wonderful. For me it is the first time to be in The Hague and I look forward to it very much.”
Her elder sister was training with mixed feelings in The Hague. “On one side I am very disappointed; together with Joana I looked very much forward to the Champions League. I wish her a quick and good recovery. On the other side, playing here together with my sister is very special. We will see what comes out of it. The first aim is particularly to enjoy the matchs; today we trained for the first time together. Per point and per match we will see how it goes and how quick we will cooperate intensely together.
